subiemech85
as in it's rusted away and have been running on the bumpstops for the last year+ makes for a harsh ride
gbianchi
sounds like your torsion bars are also toast, shocks just control the springy action of the tbars, been running a log/gravel/garbage/misc. hauling 79 brat without shocks for years, but is still springy and on the bump stops only when loaded heavily
bushbasher
i think he has an ea82 which uses coilovers instead of t-bar.
subiemech85
it's only an ea82 transmission, the rest is BRAT and ALWAYS on the bump stops, even when empty sure is a HARSH ride but it is fun on SNOWMOBILE trails
bushbasher
oops i didnt see the "-brat" If you are riding on the bumpstops it has nothing to do with shocks. Shocks just dampen to prevent a bump from causing the suspension to bounce all over the place. They do nothing to locate the suspension. You must have something wrong with your torsion rods, like stripped splines or broken torsion bars inside the tube.
mcbrat
sounds like it's time to weld in some new metal supports up from the frame rail, and put the coilover rears from your wagon in....
