O.K. I'm Impressed!

Threw a battery in the 1985 AWD Wagon today and played with it for the first time. (just got it). I did not know these cars had a low range 4 wheel drive selection! I took it over to a Jeeper friend of mine who has some land where we 'wheel Jeeps at and dove off into some nasty washouts and hills. I am impressed. This little Subie clawed its way through almost every nasty spot I put it in. It's only limitation is ground clearance. If it has at least one tire on the ground, it's going!

Granted, I drove the car like I stole it. I did manage to rip the back bumper off, clean the fog lights off of it and bend the front bumper, and bashed off years of bondo from the rockers. This picture is when I was going into an off-camber washout, the left rear tire was about 12" off of the ground.

I like it.

I failed to mention that it's a $50 car! The entire lower 4 to 6 inches is completely rusted away with large holes in it. Roadworthy by no means.

It's going to get 'wheeled to death then parted out. So I'm gonna see just what it will take:headbang:

Well, if I know Subaru's....that car will be with you for a while. Not only are they tough, but they get cranky after a while and then they refuse to die out of pure spite.

they definately are fun. and slowly become an obsession....
Man, I went to that West Coast Stompers site. VERY impressive. Taking Subies where most trucks fear to tread. I wish I lived a little closer to you guys. Here is my site, it's mostly of my Jeeps, but I will add some Subie action soon!http://www.cardomain.com/memberpage/484047
