subGSR
We have a stripped spark plug hole and are having a heli coil put in. I have another head but it will be a pain in the but to have to change them. Do heli coils last or is it a temperary fix only.
dave valiant
I do beleive they last for the long haul. You are replacing the aluminum threads with steel.I have heard of people having entire aluminum engines helicoiled for the strenght advantage.Dave. Danbob99
oh yea, a heli coil is way stronger then the standard alluminum threads, you will be hard pressed to strip that out, possible, but you'll reallllly have to work at it
syphon
Yeah I had one of my spark plug holes heli-coiled when my old GL wagon ejaculated a spark plug. Thing ran fine afterwards.
