loyale RS?

Hey, sorry if this has been posted before, but I saw a soob today that just perplexed me. I thought it was a rare black RX at first, but then at closer inspection, the lettering on the sides and rear said that it was a loyale RS. The emblem on the back was the later one, indicating that the car must be newer than 1990 (if I remember correctly), there was no indication of it being turbocharged, and it had an automatic transmission. Oh yeah, it was a three-door.

I've never seen one before, or if I did, I thought it was an RX. What's the story with this car?

i've seen a couple before, one red one white. I only got a good look at one of them. it was a MPFI nonturbo 3door d/r 5 speed with basically the same body trim as an rx
Must have been interesting.. aside from the turbo 90 loyales, MPFI was not available in the Loyales.. D/R not at all.

Most of the RSs I have seen have been SPfi.. have seen a couple of turbos in the yards though.

Also, while the RSs have the wing and the front air dam, I have never seen one with the full RX body kit.

The RS was a weak attempt by subaru to keep the RX alive until they came out with the WRX(JDM)

Unless it was installed later, no RS came with a D/R tranny. In 1990, there were a few turbos, none in 91. The turbos had S/R 5 speeds or automatics. The turbos are actually rarer then the 89 1/2 Black RXs. I have only seen one, but I have seen 3 of the black RXs. The emblem changed in 1990, it just had the stars, with no lines connecting them. I have a set of the gold emblems for this car.
