Turbone
Look for foriegn objects in between the wheels and hubs, or a rock in the drum (if you have them).

MorganM
Make sure your driveshaft is tight against the diff Do lots of offroading? Something might have made its way into the diff carrier When did you last change gear oil back there? Might do that just to see if anything was in there and to get new gear oil in there. subiemech85
it's an 84 brat with 85 wagon clutch, driveshaft, and transcarrier bearing is good, no mounting problems oil was full makes similar noise when hitting bumps, running on rebound stoppers it's definately there when driving in 4x4 and not there when driving in fwd, when driving in same path

subiemech85
why would the u-joint start making noise after the transplant when it worked fine in the wagon?
MorganM
why would the u-joint start making noise after the transplant when it worked fine in the wagon? Who knows, get under there and find out
mcbrat
if the angle is different now, the U-joint could start acting up....
torxxx
I agree with the bad ujoints. Every driveshaft I've gone through has made a different noise. Some popped, some squeaked, some grinded...
ShawnW
Shake the rear axles and see if they clunk. Diff hanger bushings are also known to be noisy on these.
MilesFox
i have seen the noise on 2 occasions. the first when the rear suspension started to fall out of the 88 wagon after a day of baja'n(rusty) and it pitched the diff up so that it made a sharp angle on the u'joint. the other occasion is when we made strut extensions on the back of the RX (myoss feece's anus lift) and it offset the angle again, prblem was cured by making a drop shackle for the diff so it was all nice and straight
