mschafe
Hi.. I have an '85 Subaru DL 4 door with Nippen ignition that needed a distributor replaced. I put it in, but FORGOT what wires go where on the coil. I have 3 black wires (one to distrib), and two yellow (one to distrib). Which ones go to + and which ones to -? Thanks for ANY help, Matt
archemitis
yellow goes to the negative side of the coil
mschafe
Hmm.. I thought that was how it was hooked up, but I can't get it to start. I tried to be careful about matching up the mark on the rotor on the new distributor so the timing wouldn't get messed up, but I have a feeling it could be off. So ALL the black wires go to the +? It seemed like the one black wire with the little condenser on it was a ground, but maybe not. Matt
archemitis
the little condensor thingy, goes to the positive, and it should be grounded somewhere, as scary as that sounds... check firing order before you pull the disty and start all over from scratch.
