boost
Hey, I am back, and with a new problem with the legacy...(btw-it's a 92 non-turbo)... Around 50mph the car shudders really bad going into overdrive, and you have to let out of the throttle a couple times for it to go away. It is an intermittent problem an isn't always there.. Does the legacy have an overdrive solenoid inside the trans that is known to go bad?

Legacy777
Sounds like something's gummed up in there. I had this occasionally when I was AT. How old is the fluid in the tranny? You might want to try running some transmission specific seafoam through the auto tranny and see if that helps.
Tiny Clark
Someone chime in because I'm probably wrong, but I'm going with what most auto manufacturers are doing today, which is using solenoids to control all the gear changing. Don't know if your year Subie has a TCU. Sometimes I wish for the good old days when all that was used was vacuum, speed, and throttle pedal position for downshifting.
