reverendblkgrape
Perhaps one of you fellow Subaru owners can lend a helpful hand. My 1999 Legacy Outback Wagon started to develop a front differential transmission leak as evidenced by transmission fluid showing up on the front diff pan and dripping on the exhaust pipe causing a noticeable smell. I took it to the dealer and they thought the pan had a leak so they removed it and replaced the seal. i have noticed that the leaking is back and was never the pan but something above it in the transmission. Has anyone had any problems such as this? Where is the most likely place a leak could have occured. I am going back to the dealer in a couple days but wanted an unbiased guess. Any info would be great!
camosuba
Sounds like an input shaft seal, do you have any dents in the tranny pan? apparently they can affect things in an auto?
