archemitis Posted October 28, 2004 Share Posted October 28, 2004 puttin a er27 in my hatch, now that motor hangs out further in front, and weighs a bit more than the original motor. im trying to decide if i need to do the 5 lug swap, so i can run legacy shocks up front. the legacy shocks(not exactly sure wich ones) should be set up for more weight than my ea81. im just wonderin if this would be a good reason in doing the 5 lug. are there any other advantages to this over runing pugs, with rear discs, with the 4 lugs? Danbob99 Posted October 28, 2004 Share Posted October 28, 2004 There are tons of advantages to doing the 5-lug, bigger brakes, more vairety of rotors you can use, more parts availible, impreza front end stuff will fit...and, you can have some cool 5-lug wheels on it... MilesFox Posted October 30, 2004 Share Posted October 30, 2004 yeah, the mount is one width back, you can ground off the one from the ea82 crossmember and weld it into place on the ea81, trim the excess. so you will be using ea82 lower control arm, so you WILL have to drill the ball joint hole. the only exception to this is if you have the xt6 lower control, which is the same as an ea82 but has the larger ball joint hole already Link to comment Share on other sites More sharing options...
