Bkillazrallying
Is it possible to put a turbo in a 93 legacy that didnt come with the turbo engine originally? if so, is it even worth the hassle? not that id actually do this anytime soon, but i was just curious. Would it be easier to find an old dead turbo engine and drop that in and put a nicer turbo in? (after I kill this engine... I plan on being the last person to ever own this car...) simbey1982
It is possible but it is not worth it, a few things in a turbo engine are diffrent, lower compression pistons, some fuel management things, ECU etc your best bet is to find a turbo engine and drop it in. With a 93 legacy im assuming a EJ22 so any EJ turbo engine will more or less "drop" in and mate with your transmission. I asked the same question a few months back.... here is my thread and the answers http://www.ultimatesubaru.org/forum/showthread.php?t=18803 Happy Hunting
Bkillazrallying
thanks, i kinda figured it be easier to drop one thats already turbo'd in. so any EJ engine will fit? so in theory... a new STI engine would fit? hmmmm the ultimate sleeper... muwhahaha
simbey1982
so in theory... a new STI engine would fit? hmmmm the ultimate sleeper... muwhahaha Yes it most likely would "fit" wiring harness would need to be modified... You would probabally want a STI ECU and also a six speed tranny. Not to mention brakes and suspension to handle twice the horsepower and tourque so you dont fly off the road and die Looking at a lot of money for that $10000 maybe Cory
