colossal_monstrosity
Located for sale, and am looking for someone elses opinion as to whether or not it's worth as much as he's asking. 1985 Subaru Brat 235,000 original miles, original engine/trans/head gaskets New: brakes, tires, cv's, semi-new clutch Original jump seats No rust Almost always garaged One of the straightest used cars I've ever seen Needs: Tune up (do it myself) Windshield within 6 months, crack in left side, expanding, may leak. Still runs absolutely fantansitc, some old guy, he's had it since it was 1 year old. He's asking $3200. I was planning on using this car for daily driving for about a year or two, probably adding 50k miles to it. Would it be worth that much, considering it's age and mileage, despite the fact that they last forever? Located in Yelm, WA 98597
edrach
I think he's being optimistic. I'd pay $500 to $700 for a non rusted body with a blown engine and transmission, but not $3200 for what you describe. If it's really cherry I might go $2000 knowing that I'll possibly be replacing the engine and transmission in a short time. northguy
That price is high even for my neck of the woods. With mileage like that, you should get it for way less. I'd say $1500 tops.
bitterbuffalos
I would pass, keep your eyes open for a better deal. I paid 2700 for a Brat w/ 102k and no rust.
sandman
You could buy a lot with $3200. You could buy three good Brats around here for that much. Sounds like a nice car but really, its only worth about half that.
Scoobywagon
the ONLY way I'm paying $3200 for an unmodified brat is if somebody just scrubbed 20 years worth of cosmoline off it. Probably help if the body was gold plated or something....
