Tcat55371
Toying with the idea of making my wagon run on Propane also. Did some snooping on the internet for parts. Question I have is a guy here at work told me not to do it on a high miles car. Anybody have an experience with this? My wagon has 170,000 on it and really doesn't burn oil. What are your thoughts? archemitis
haha, lpg is gas when it goes into atmosphere. i believe the aussies, have more experience on this one than us. i dont see why using it on older motors would be a problem. unless the concern is the poorly sealed rings, will fill the crankcase with propane? One of the OLD concerns was the same as for running unleaded gasoline: That the native-head-material valve-seats would wear quickly without the lubrication of the lead. If your advisor was thinking this, then his thought may be that a high-miles engine already had valve seat problems. This would not be an issue with hardened valve seats inserts.
