I dont like dealers either cause half the time they dont know anything anyway. And with Soobies being alittle quirky at times makes it even more annoying.

Explain the noise alittle better and exactly what Soob you have and I am sure someone here should know what it is.

Here is the story. I just gave away my 87 XT turbo gl-10 Coupe because I couldn't take care of it as good as I wanted and also needed more room with the new baby and all. I made sure it goes to good hands, so I sold it to another USMB member, wagonsonly. I'm sure he'll take good care of it. Now I have a 93 Lefgacy sedan and 2001 legacy wagon, which means that i have to post to the newer generation board. With all due respect to the newer subbies, I like this room much better.

The problem is on my 93 legacy.

The noise happens every time when accelerating, especially from a complete stop. Stronger and more consistent when going up hill. It's like: dup-dup-dup. I checked myself and also went to the MIDAS that is next to my work and also to another local mechanic. They didn't find anything also on the CV joints or boots, but one of them is suggesting I should go to a transmissions shop. (It's an auto ). I don't think so. The other one blamed the tires, as they were in bad condition. I changed the tires, but the noise is still there

To be more specific, the noice is like if the lug nuts were loose.

What could it be?????

Any feel of a loss of drive for even a millisecond?Grab the axles at the differential and twist them to check for any play. Also tug on the axle flange in and out, again,up by the diff.

No more really great shops in SW CT for Subarus anymore.

I don't think I have noticed any loss of drive. The noice is heard when steering very slightly to the left when accelerating and above 15-20mph. It doesn't happen in complete turns either left nor right.

I found this shop on yellow pages: PAULS SUBARU SPECIALIST, 1320 WOLCOTT RD 06716 .

Does this have anything to do with you Moosens?;) It would be great.

Thanks

Jesse is an actual mechanic for 40+ hours a week and I feel he's top notch. But,he's all the way up at the other end of the state.

Paul's has been around for about 10+ years.I used to get pissed that he used the name that he does but that's life.So when.if I ever should open a shop it's have to have a clever name like ........like........like.......

Yeah,Paul's has been a Subaru specialist for some time.I wasn't sure he was still around only because he must have cut back on advertising or something.I just haven't seen his/their name mentioned in a while.

There's also Ciancola over on Rt.63 just before the tunnel on the Merrit Pkwy.Take a left off the exit and head north towards Naugatuck. It's on the left just about 1/4-1/2 mile from the Merrit. They've been involved with Subarus for a long time too. But,they can be a little pricey.Same for F&S in Waterbury. They are considered Gods of Subarus by most folks who have dealt with Subarus since the 70's,early 80's.They can be very pricey and not the best of personalities.

Like Connie said,I'm just way too busy.Under the gun on several jobs and my own home improvements....then there the car jobs....etc.....etc.....etc.
