ManYaiK
Hey guys, what's happen'in? Got a prob with me soob. ECU was saying that the Air Control Valve was open or shorted. It was bogging real bad under load when cold. I swap the ACV with the one on my '88 parts car tonight. Bogs' gone, but now it won't rev higher then 4800!!!! Feels like its hiting a rev limiter. Once it starts warming up, it'll get to redline, but takes awhile. Any ideas??? Also, I converted it from 3AT to 5MAN about a mouth ago. Is there any rewiring I need to do(besides 4x4 indicader, reverse lights, and park/neutral swich)? Any help will be apreesheated. Thanks Dave
northguy
Why do you want to rev a cold engine higher than 4800 rpm? Let the poor thing warm up, extend the life of the motor.
ShawnW
Sounds like maybe your catalyst is going bad. If you have another exhaust system around bolt it on, if you dont disconnect the exhaust at the flange behind catalyst #1 and see if the bog has gone away. 2nd cat usually goes long before the 1st one...if it ever fails other than rusting.
