heep70 Posted November 21, 2004 Author Share Posted November 21, 2004 Ya, I did the wheel bearing check. That is what I was thinking. Wheel is solid. I looked at the manual and found no adjustments. Ross Posted November 21, 2004 Share Posted November 21, 2004 on 80-84 models rear wheel alignment can be adjusted - sort of - you have to loosen the three bolts holding the control arm to the torsion bar arm, and then move the hub around using jacks. I havn't done it, but have talked to a wheel alignment specialist, who said he had done it once - and would never do it again. heep70 Posted November 21, 2004 Author Share Posted November 21, 2004 Not saying the shock is good, but it sits even in the back. Shock seems to be OK, any way of checking it for sure? It is the adjustable type. What about the bushing on the control arm where it is connected to the framework? If that was bad would that cant the wheel out? idosubaru Posted November 21, 2004 Share Posted November 21, 2004 greg, i haven't seen the tire, but firing from the hip i wouldn't rule out a bad tire. swap tires in the rear and see if it happens to another tire before swapping anything unless you know it needs it. or rebuild your entire rear end if you got the time/$. i'd double check your bushings and such in the rear and that mechanical linkage. good luck and have fun, Link to comment Share on other sites More sharing options...
Qman Posted November 22, 2004 Share Posted November 22, 2004 Well, after checking it out it appears to be bad/worn springs on the coilovers. With the rears completely raised and the front at it's lowest settings the rear only is 3/4" higher. Turbone has a set of shocks to replace them with and see if that improves the stance. If I have time Tuesday, I think I will take it in and have an alignment shop give me some opinions. More input is welcome as I am not real knowledged on the Subaru stuff.
