1.8L L4 2BBL ??<-- What is this?

1.8L L4 2BBL ??

I know this sounds simple, I tried to do a search, but none explained what this means.

I know its 1.8 Litre , but L4? .. 2BBL?

My car is a 1986 1.8L "Fuel Injected". (So I am thinking it doesnt have any carburators)

Anyway, someone explain , THANKS:)

So where are you seeing this on your car?? You're right that the 1.8L is teh displacement, but L4 usually means an inline 4 cylinder, the Subaru engine is usually refered to as a H4, (H meaning horizontal), the 2BBL usually stands for 2 barrel carb.

And for the record. MPFI was available in 1985 for the EA82. XT's and 2wd auto sedans had it. But yes, the first issue was in the late '83 turbo EA81's.

And Corky's description of your question is dead on.

L4 in a 'roo. Not yet, but there is an L3.

I never heard an inline 4 referred to as an L4, an I4 yes but L4, that’s new to me. but I'm from the south so take that for what you will

If it sits lateral (transverse sitting sideways in the engine bay) it is a L4, if it is inline (sitting front to back in the engine bay), it is an I4, both are in-line, straight block engines.
