oinesra
hey guys. i need some help finding a part. its the relay/computer chip looking thing that is mounted on the same bracked a the coil. this is for a 93 loyale. i e-mailed a subaru dealer and he said the part is called a 'noise wire'. he said that he would have to special order it so he didnt give me a price. this is the only thing that is keeping my loyale from running. so any help on where to get one would be great. subiemech85
you do NOT need one!! it just helps to reduce noise interference for the radio one end would go to coil -, the other end would go to ground the engine WILL run WITHOUT

Skip
We have a bit of confusion here The dealer has misunderstood the unit in question. It is not a noise suppression capacitor i.e. "noise wire" This is what Sube mech is describing. What you need is the ignition amplifier. Post over on maket place for one Should be no problem all MPFI 87 and later and SPFI cars have this devise

MorganM
I've noticed that the bracket the amplifier is mounted on must be grounded well. Check to ensure it's not all rust behind the bracket cuasing the circut to fail. I had to pull mine off and clean up the strut tower there where it bolts on to get a good clean ground again. Worth a shot while you are waiting for parts

oinesra
ok, the ignition amplifer seems to be a rare item, because i have yet to find one. and the guy at the dealership still won't give me a price so screw him. what do you all think of running a MSD-sci or some other after market ignition. i can get one for $150, but will i be able to run it without the stock amplifer working? we tried cleaning it up to get a good ground, but nothing. so i smelled it and it smells burnt. if you all could help that would be great. and thatnks for the info on what it was called. Skip
oinesra, This is not a "rare" item. Have you no bone yards in your area? I explained which cars will have this item. Or you could send a private message to oddcomp. IF you decide this method of fixing your problem is too difficult and do want to spend all that cash on an aftermarket ignition system. The ignition pulse system you have is called a crank angle distributor. Make sure the system you choose can sense this type of control if it uses the distributor pick up for it's firing signal. Hope this helps Happy Holly daze
oinesra
well, its rare for me. been to 3 P.A.P. places and only 1 even had a subaru, and it was burnt to hell and back. also it dosent seem that anyone has one for sale on here. but the thing about going after market is that i have never installed one befor. the main thing i am worried about is will it will work with out the ign.amp. to me it seems like it should, but i really dont know. im sure some of you have a msd 6a or some other fairly cheap ign. installed. if you do you got any input on the situation? MorganM
Pretty sure I have a spare one in my spare parts box. Sounds like you really went to length to find one. Sometimes you just cant find the parts you need from local junkyards Went through that with a fuel pump... simply none to be had at any local junkyards; or the ones I found were toast. Send me a PM and I'll talk to you about mailing my spare one out. Shoot me your zip code atleast and I can estimate a shipping price.
