Martin
So... I got some winter tires given to me that still have some life in them. I just need to get some rims and everything will be great. I currently just have stock black rims, and was going to just get some more plain ones, or some wagon wheels... but I can get alloys for the price. Then I would have to put my winter tires on my current rims and current tires on new alloys. (kind of a pain) I hear alloys are a lot lighter, what other benefits would they have? How strong are they? I was also thinking of painting the wagon wheels black... Can some people post some pics of their loyale style wagons with alloys or 8 spoke wagon wheels. Specific alloys of interest and availability are: rally (8-hole), Notched, and H-style. I know what they look like on the wheels page, but it's hard to see if it actually looks good overall. Thanks. edrach
I've got a set of the Motion Wheels (see my earlier thread: http://www.ultimatesubaru.org/forum/showthread.php?t=25111&highlight=Motion+wheels). I live NE of Seattle so it would be just a ferry ride and about 2 hours drive if you're interested in buying them. So... I got some winter tires given to me that still have some life in them. Martin
Hey edrach, thanks for the offer, but I have a line on a few different models up here for about the same price. Still trying to make up my mind about steel vs alloy. I've got a set of the Motion Wheels (see my earlier thread: http://www.ultimatesubaru.org/forum/showthread.php?t=25111&highlight=Motion+wheels). edrach
Alloys are generally better than steel; this is when compared to the EA82 wagon wheels which tend to go out of true very easily. I prefer alloys for appearance if for no other reason. Hey edrach, thanks for the offer, but I have a line on a few different models up here for about the same price. Martin
That's why I am trying to get some people to post up some pics of their loyales with alloy rims or wagon wheels to see which looks best. When you just look at a wheel, they look pretty good. But when you see it on a car, just doesn't always seem to work.
