Without a cooler? For those of you that have technical knowledge about oil and temperatue, at what temperature does engine oil start to breakdown at an excessive rate? idosubaru Posted December 21, 2004 Share Posted December 21, 2004 might want to wait more than an hour. someone will reply, i promise. your oil temperature shouldn't be reaching excessive temperatures on a NA engine. why are you asking, more details may help. there is probably lots of oil, heat and breakdown information on the internet since that's not subaru specific if you're in a hurry.
