starkiller
yeah, the one place i checked here wanted $350 for just the pipe and muffler!! all custom of course but sheesh!
Vanislru
"shady" shops are best when removing a cat, preferably someplace out of the way and not busy. I paid $250 cdn and that included a custom 2" DP the guy made using my old flange. For a simple extension of your y pipe I would not spend anyting more than $100- 150 US muffler included[ cheap cherry bomb ]... what ever you get I highly reccomend a 3" or 4" tailpipe being tacked on the back of the muffler, the rich exhaust note the larger size pipe gives you is awesome! idosubaru
does he have an EA82T? the first post just says EA82. that being the case he may not want his power band quite as high as a very large exhaust with no cat converter will put him. NorthWet
It might not help you now, but I plan on trying my hand making a couple of my own soon (Feb?). If you haven't found something good by then, let me know. The question you should ask yourself, Alan, is: Do you want power or a noise maker? "Free-flow" and "reasonably quiet" are not opposites. NorthWet
Well, just shoehorn a 'Cuda engine into your GL. I'm sure you will get noise. SSCCCRRAAPPPEEEE!!!
busdriver
I don't mean to high jack your thread, but I'm trying to convince my buddy (bored welder) that he wants to build me a down pipe for my ea82t, cause I think my cat is getting funny. Anyways, I mentioned that if he would build one one for me, he might be able to produce some more and sell em to other sube guys. Question is, would anyone be interested? I'm not sure on price, I had him thinking about it on his way home last. Chime in with any information your willing to give.
