check out these threads i have 2.5 exhaust on my turbo and a noticed a big deferance in power and the turbo spooled alot faster. and i already had a gutted cat before i put the 2.5 on

Thanx I think I'm gonna go 2.5 inch turbo back w/ glass pack, any estimates on cost?

I have a TWE header and DP, DP is 2.5" and I ran 2.5" all the way to the back, cherry bomb with 3" inlet/outlet. Huge difference at the upper rpm range, and noticeable difference midrange, maybe a bit more power down low too. Before the TWE header/DP combo went on I had a 2" DP with 2" to the back w/ 2" cherry bomb. Much better than stock. If you aren't doing anything to the header or DP I wouldn't go spending big $ on the 3" . The header is by far the worst power robber IMHO, then the tiny DP, then the exhaust/muffler with the smaller outlet than inlet[stock turbo muffler].

This is based on the mods I've done to three turbo wagons that have all had different levels of mods done at any given time so I've been able to do alot of comparisons. No dyno's just timed runs.

IMHO divorced wastegates aren't needed just a bigger DP throat at the turbo flange so flow is unrestricted.:burnout:

I spent 250 CDN that's on a 2" dp and 2" all the way back cherry bomb included.

How much for the aftermarket TWE UP (header)? what is better for first mod Up/DP pipe or turbo back 2.5"? I think I'm gonna do the TWE either way just depends on time so should I do the 2.5" from the back of the DP instead or just order the TWE stuff and wait til i get the money for the rest and do it all at once? would it be worth it to do it peice by peice?

By the way thanks for the info

I dont think the EA-82T has enough flow to see much difference above the 2 1/4" to 2 1/2" range. Like Vanislru said, save the money between the 2 1/2" and the 3" pipe and put it toward a good up pipe.

Side note: Personally I think the TWE header's primary pipes are a bit large for a stock or near stock EA-82T, unless you have made significant changes to open up breathing in the upper RPMs (cams, head work). I think a more useable power curve could be had with slightly smaller tubes.
