limejuice
Hello, everyone. I hope someone can help me with this problem. I have a 2002 Outback. The luggage cover will not rewind. I used it quite frequently, maybe that's the problem. thanks!

Subie Gal
tonneau covers operate with a spring hinge inside... sometimes those go bad nothing you can do to fix it... perhaps there is a parts warranty on it??? when did you purchase the tonneau cover? limejuice
Thanks so much for your replies. I don't know what a "tonneau cover" is. What I'm talking about is the standard luggage cover that I'm pretty sure comes with all Outbacks. It pulls over cargo in the back. This is my 3rd Subaru Outback. I lease them for 3 year terms. The first 2 Outbacks were fine. This one is good too -- only problem is the luggage cover to date. Guess I'll look into any warranty. I don't know how that works with leases though. Thanks again! dormat925
tonneau covers= luggage cover. They are the same thing. Just take it to your subaru dealer they will fix or replace it for free. thats why you lease in 3 year intervals the only thing you have to cover is regular maintance. (oil changes, brakes, tires, stuff like that)
avk
I understand those covers sometimes can be repaired by rewinding the spring, similar to window blinds, but no first-hand experience here.
