vodoobrat
Got me a Weber Carb, but it came out of an 85 GL wagon(EA82). My question is will it work in my 83 GL Brat(EA81)???? Vo
Turbone
Depends on what intake you have on the 83. If its aa Hitachi carb, then it should work. If its a Carter carb, you need to get a Hitachi intake. Rob
GLCraig
You might have to get a different carb adapter, I'm not sure but there might be a difference between the bolt spacing between EA81 and EA82 carb bases.
GeneralDisorder
Yeah - the adapter is different - they can be had for around $25 - $30 I think. Look around online. The Weber should work fine, assuming - like Turbone said, that the brat had a hitachi (very likely - never seen an 83 with the carter). Even if it didn't - just get a hitachi intake from some yard, and you'll be good. GD
gravelRX
Search for it online. Cheapest I've found. It's morning, I'm not awake enough yet. COFFEE, Jay

ShawnW
Couldnt he have just used the EA82 Manifold with the carb and put it on the 83 Brat? There would be some cooling/plumbing things to deal with...... Just an idea....
Caboobaroo
I had an 83 hatchback 2WD that had a Carter on it.......I'm glad I got rid of that carb AND the car. It was more headaches than it was worth. If you've ever seen the inside of a Carter, there's a little hose that goes from the accellerator pump to the spray nozzle inside the barrel. Mine got a hole in it and it didn't like being cold or revving up to fast. I had to go to a hobby store and get the smallest airplane fuel hose that they had. It barely fit but it worked enough to trade it for my 79 wagon which is much cooler and its 4WD:D
