Won't Start - Cold Weather? (EA81T)

I just put insurance back on my car, drove my father to his office and printed off the temp. card so I could drive the car.

 

I hop back in the car to go home and it won't start. It will crank over but won't catch and start. I throtled it but that didn't do squat. The outside temp. is 7 Degrees.

 

Any clue as to what is wrong? It's never done this before. It started up just fine when I left the house. I didn't let the car sit before I drove it and it only went about a half mile if that so it was not warmed up when I turned it off again.

 

This is an urgent problem for me, and I feel like an idiot because my dad was with me.

Seems like a real common problem this last week

 

I'd have to say

 

H20 + Petrol don't mix

try some HEET

 

or

 

the coolant temp sensor for the FI wants it's connections cleaned or replaced.

 

Best course of action is to find out whats

missing

fuel

or

spark

Is HEET like the ether products that you spray into the intake? I'm going to get some and see if that does anything.

 

I'm not sure how to check spark on my car. (I only know that if your lawnmower shocks you then its getting spark)

I have the same problem, but where is the Coolant temp. sensor located at.

yours may already have frozen fuel lines though.

The CS is on the upper rad hose connection.

There are two there one for the dash gauge and one for the FI.

So, the Coolant Sensor would prevent the engine from getting gas even though I'm giving it throttle?

*EDIT: How do I test the CS ?

 

I've been told that the same stuff as the HEET is already in all the pump gas around town here.

 

The guy at the auto parts store told me to take a space heater and blow air from it toward the gas lines. Wish I had a heated garage or even a garage.

A little off subject, but are you sure that one of those sensors is for hte dash gauge? Just that mine seems to be on a hose near the heater plumbing?
