Sooo tempting!

EJ20 AIR-WATER INTERCOOLER . I kinda want to get it, but then I'd have to worry about a better radiator probably, and a pump, and then figuring out plumbing, and the fact that I'm not going to have any money in a couple weeks anyways after I pump it all into my legacy.

Yea, you'll still need the pump, radiator (different for the engine radiator) and all the lines. It is interesting that the guy in the link used a reservoir tank, on the Legacys it recirculates the water from the tank above the I/C through the radiator, no water reservoir.

This is interesting! I thought all air/water intercoolers needed it's own heat exchanger rather than going through the radiator. I thought they needed their own heat exchanger because going through the radiator wasn't efficient enough since coolant temps would be around what your thermostat's setting is (EX: 195F, 180F, etc). I guess the stock Legacy/WRX air/water intercooler setup also doesn't have it's own water pump as well. ? . Interesting!

 

I could see why any old school EA81T or EA82T owner would want that type of intercooler though. It would seem to be just right for our cars considering the limited bumper space for an intercooler and no hood scoop.

That and it says SUBARU TURBO INTERCOOLER on it and I would feel like the man if I had that in my engine bay.

If you had read what I said, you would see that I said the radiator for the I/C is seperate from the engine radiator. The WRX uses an air to air I/C so it doesn't need all the extra stuff. All Subaru air to water I/Cs had their own pump and radiator. The air to water I/C still requires a hood scoop. "Bumper space for an intercooler"??? What are you talking about, a front mounted air to air I/C???
