Wasteland
I've got a 3.9 diff that I'm pulling apart to have the spiders welded, but I can't get the stub bolts out. The head of the bolt looks like a male torx, an 8mm six point deep socket fits on it but it's 1/4 so I can't get alot of aciton on it. Any tips to breaking these loose? Qman
You need the E10 torx socket. Here are the results from the search "E10 torx" http://www.ultimatesubaru.org/forum/search.php?searchid=57837
WJM
impact would help as well. I used a 1/4" drive 8MM deepwell on it...attached to a real impact gun...zipped them right out.
Wasteland
You need the E10 torx socket. Thanks! I've got the E10 on order. I used a 1/4" drive 8MM deepwell on it...attached to a real impact gun...zipped them right out.I did hit one side with the 1/2 impact reduced down for the 1/4 8mm but it broke the tip off my reducer! I'm thinking they're seized in, I got them bathing in liquid wrench now. We'll see what tomorrow brings. Thanks for the info!
