subaru_styles
they should all be the same. ther was no change in the xt6 short life span
idosubaru
all XT6's alternators are identical. if you've ever taken an alternator apart, there's solder joint inside of it that causes the demise of most XT6 alternators. resolder and drive on. i've got a rebuilt one so i've never done it though, but know someone who has. subestyle18
What are the people, who have done this swap, using as the spacer for this swap? Is it something that has to be specialy made, or what. Thanks. David
rallyruss
well I recently installed a xt turbo alt. looks like the xt6 unit just lower amps. all i used was a small piece of flat bar with two holes drilled in it. used the stock alt bolt at the factory bracket with a nut on the back side. used a slightly longer bolt thru the bar into the alt. worked well. only one tip. when drilling the holes in the flat bar make them a little wider apart than you think they need to be and it will still work. to close together and your S.O.L.
