starkiller
ok, did the search thing and didnt find anything pertaining to what to do about a roof rack rattle...i have tighted up the screws as good as i could and even moved the cross bars to the far rear but the roof still rattles..you can hear that same sound when you bang on the rails towards the front part of the rack..should i move the cross bars to the front then to hold the rails down or is it just a matter of old rivets? alan
hooziewhatsit
maybe try taking the rails off and putting some gasket goo under them to fill in any space that's there? That might stop the rattle if you think that's where it's coming from

singletrack
Take off the roof rack and see it it still rattles. It could be the flimsy roof braces came unglued and are ratling around between the roof and the headliner. Edit: I just spoke to my dog, and he agrees it's the "roof". starkiller
i can only take the cross bars off as the tracks are pop riveted...
Chris W.
I have the same problem with my Yakima bars and towers, checked everything multiple times, it's all tight??? I learned to ignore the rattles..... Good luck, Chris
