Craven
Is it possible to fit the turbo system off a EA82 to a EA81 car? Aka 86 Brat.
calebz
If you wanted it setup like a factory type system, you would need a lot of EA81T parts.. Heads And such.

calebz
More of a mounting thing. The EA81T is MPFI like the EA82T.. So it would have the proper intake ports on the heads, which you current heads do not.
Craven
The reason I ask, I might have a line on a pair of EA8T cars. A wagon with a nice body with a bad motor, not sure what's wrong with it, I didn't talk to the guy that long and a 3dr coupe with a good motor and a rusted out body. He got the cars, planning on doing a swap and selling the wagon. But he hasn't had the time to do it. Then would rebuilding the bad engine, maybe with some cams and such and then installing that in the Brat be a better option? Depending what the problem is with the motor. calebz
Sure.. Install an EA81T in the brat.. it would be cool.. Make sure you have all the stuff you need before you scrap the donor though..Crossmember, ECU, wiring harness.. all that neat stuff

JWX
You meen a EA82T, don't you? why? I think the EA-81 is a good engine to turbo, just get a cam ground with little over lap, and run a megasquirt, and either a spark box or EDIS. I think it'd be sick. But probably more fun as an end result.

Bratenstein
Would an EA82T engine work with the Brat transmission? Or would I need to get a different transmission?
Craven
Would an EA82T engine work with the Brat transmission? Or would I need to get a different transmission? It will bolt right up. Just use the clutch disk and throw-out bearing of the trans and the preasure plate and flywheel of the EA82 engine. Craven
bushbasher
why not just do a complete ea82t swap, block and everything? Its been done, and with mods you could be running mid 100s for hp.
Vanislru
Garner has that sort of set up doesn't he? ea82t in a brat? ea82t's are so easy to mod and it sounds like you are familiar with what's involved with the swap so what the heck sounds good.
