mcbrat
put the new accelerator pump diaphram in last night, and solved my leaking gas problem, and put in new wiring for the cooling fans. took it for it's first drive in maybe 14 years! rear disc brakes work well too... has a bit of an exhaust leak, and it sounds like a Harley. the full sized pic of the one on the photos page... took it for a quick bath last night... still lots of Arizona dirt left on it though..... mcbrat
COOL! talked with a buddy tonight, and I'm taking the Brat over to him Monday night or tuesday, to get the following... custom front bumper w/D rings, a modified brushguard I bought from SubaruBratBoy a long time ago a modified Gen1 large skid plate to start at the front bumper a custom rear bumper w/2" receiver custom rollbar that will be made from 2 Gen1 Roll bars (thus saving my 2 Gen2 rollbars )
Flowmastered87GL
Since on one said anything... I belive 140's are safe jets to run in a weber... whether or not they are perfect for the car is one thing... but I do know they are safe (you wont blow up the engine or anything)
mcbrat
it would be interesting to see if this one is jetted any differently that the one on Grizz. Grizz's was bought from CarbsUnlimited brand new with the Suby Kit, and the one on the Brat was a $60 eBay model off a 1.9 litre Opel. I figured it should be jetted close enough to the same. it does run really well. a little rough on idle yet, but I think I just need to adjust the idle speed up a bit. non-functional tach, so will wing it... felt pretty cool to take a motor, put new headgaskets on it, stripped down intake, and eBay weber. new clutch kit, add rear disc brakes, put it all together, and have it driveable right off the bat... I'm guessing the bad accelerator pump was why the weber was removed from the opel in the first place... I've got a top for the weber that mates to the stock Opel air filter box, and I was able to find a stock open air box at the junkyard, so now I can make my snorkel....
