turbo timer help?

Recommended Posts

well thats right. I bought a turbo timer. Some of you are probably asking why I did but when I tell y'all I got it for 13 bucks shipped (originally it goes for 100 bucks usually), then you'll know why. Ok anyways, so I bought this GReddy Full Auto Turbo Timer and I've been looking at it on www.greddy.com so I could figure out the wiring since it has no book. Well I got all the wires (all 7 of then lol) figured out except ONE! This is what I have so far...

Red - 12v ignition

Blue - ACC ignition

Green - "ON" ignition

Black - ground

Brown - parking brake

Gray - not used

but the one I'm having problems with is the purple wire. I know what it goes to but I'm not sure IF the RX is capable of it or not. Greddy says it goes to the "speed signal" coming from the ECU. So, would the RX have a speed signal coming from the ECU at all?

Oh and a pic of the TT... http://www.ultimatesubaru.org/photos/showphoto.php?photo=3973

and a few other photos I got like parts:D... http://www.ultimatesubaru.org/photos/showphoto.php?photo=3974 and foglights... http://www.ultimatesubaru.org/photos/showphoto.php?photo=3975

Did you get the manual?

The speed sensor wire is what activates/controls the AUTO function...Depending on how much/hard/far/fast you've been driving the TT will automatically set itself to a specific countdown time according to the driving that was done.

I couldn't find the speed sensor pin on my ECU so I don't know if there is one.

What are your wire to wire colors? I hooked up the same turbo timer in my ea81t and the starter would get signal when I turned the key from the ACC to the OFF position. So I'm just curious what wires on your ignition switch are going to what wires on the turbo timer.

nope, no manual came with it but I did find an online manual on the GReddy website in a pdf format which I read over pretty quicky so I could get the wires straightened out. I kinda had an idea thats what the speed sensor wire was for on the TT. Also, I would need a FSM of a copy of a wiring diagram for my '89 RX which I also do not have.
