Piston stop.......

Help, I can't find a piston stop(for a sub, just Ford and Chevy:rolleyes: ) in this whole town......... In fact I only found one guy at a parts house who knew what I was talking about!!! If you have a lead on where to find one please let me know. Thanks, Tim

Okay, I found a couple doing a Google search. It is basically a threaded rod that you screw into the spark plug hole to stop the piston on it up stroke. Rotate the engine till it stops, mark the flywheel. Rotate back the opposite direction till it stops, mark the fly wheel. The point inbetween your two marks is TDC, then just set your timeing using a timeing light and the TDC mark.

 

Just to be sure, Subarus use a 14mm spark plug, correct??

i think the EA82's use an SAE thread....im not sure.
