Martin
So, I just saw an ad for a 92 loyale (5speed S/R) 280,000km, NO RUST! Strong runner, no leaking/burning oil and not a bad price either... My 87 GL (5speed DR) 340,000km is starting to get rusty and the carb'd engine lacks power compared to the SPFI. My GL is full of new parts and conversions like rear discs. Those would be swapped (even though I dont have time or space), and other creature comforts like map lights are easy to do. But I think I will miss my D/R too much! I know the D/R can be put into the Loyale, but with all the vacuum operation of the S/R, can it go into a carbed GL? Honestly I dont think I would even have time for that, as I would have to sell the GL ASAP to pay for the Loyale. Why must I be tempted by newer vehicles... ShawnW
Watch for a Legacy and never look back. Continue to drive yours until it won't anymore.
bushbasher
I would skip the loyales altogether like skip said and find a legacy, or keep looking for an 87-89 SPFI DR wagon or an 85-89 turbo wagon. The loyales have a more basic trim level, like a DL, and they have that lame vacuum actuator crap for 4wd.
