kbiv
I hope someone here can help - I am trying to repair an 87 GL10 wagon for a friend, that keeps poping a fuse - one of the main fuses. Does anybody here have digital images of the wiring diagram so I can chase this down and fiure out what is pulling so much current, or follow the wires and see if they are chafed of something? Any help will be appreciated!! Kev
85Sub4WD
It is very unusual for a Soob to be repeatedly poping a fuse. The owner's manual and fuse panel cover both have info as to what is on which fuse. I would thing that it is quite likely somebody put the wrong size bulb in for something or added on something improperly. Check those first. I have not seen many soobs with damaged wiring, they do a LOT to protect the harness, my best bet is that it is some modification or mistake that was made; check all the items on the circuit before checking for bad wiring. Sorry, I don't have any documentation for a 1987 Soob.
MilesFox
hey if you are handy with a schematic get the haynes "subaru 1600 & 1800" manual. you may have to order it but it has a comprehensive schematic and troubleshooting
Skip
kb, you say "main fuse" do you meant one of the fusible links located under the hood in the black plastic box mounted on the over flow bottle? The GL-10 series has many many circuits Your request for a schematic is best satisfied by a FSM (Factory Service Manual) this link might help http://www.finleyweb.net/default.asp?id=142 or as Miles says get a hold of an underwear manual (Haynes) A common trick is to wire an automotive light in place of the fuse. The high current drawing item will cause the lamp to glow. Remove circuits from the equation until the lamp extinguishes. Hope this helps and welcome aboard the good ship USMB
