Phizinza
I have twin webber carbies on my 89' EA81 Brumby. I am having truble with them. They are dual throat and the problem lies in the second throat. I have been doing a few things with the car lately (thrust bearing, oil change, reshaping bent airbox) and I have lost some power somewhere. I noticed a few days ago that my second throats were only opening up at about 4000RPM. Just today I done the timming and they arn't opening at all, I rev'd it a little harder then I would of liked trying to get them to open, yet they stayed closed. What could my problem be. Could the lack of power (no longer can spin all four wheels in the dirt) be the second throats not working? Help is most welcome as I hate burning this much clutch just to get the car moving in hi-range up hills. Also, does anyone out there have a manual for these webbers? As the stock manual only has hitachi's in it. Twin carbies on the engine. thats one of the waights that opens the second throat (moves with ease) I've also got a wire hanging of the underneath of my distrbutor. Does anyone know where that should go? Its a hard green wire. Couldn't find it anywhere in the manual :-| A couple of more pics http://webmaster.beverleypaine.com/RIMG0032.JPG http://webmaster.beverleypaine.com/RIMG0036.JPG http://webmaster.beverleypaine.com/RIMG0037.JPG Thanks for any help. 85Sub4WD
OK, none of us in the states got a twin weber, so we don't know for sure. BUT, I think what you are describing sounds like a vacuum problem (check your hoses). The wire looks like the ground wire for the condensor on the distribuitor, should go to a ground somewhere. If you ground it and blow a fuse, then I was wrong Hope this helps! It would probably help to get a FSM sometime in the future, b/c I think it will get harder to find info on them.
