freedster
Hello All! The first time I slid forward the passenger seat after I got the GL, it slid just fine but I can't get it to lock in position again. All it wants to do now is slide around. Not only is it annoying, its a safety hazard. I didn't hear or feel anything break when I slid the seat, but I figure the seat hadn't been moved in at least 3 years, so some bit probably just slid out of the way and couldn't slide back, or something. I'm sure that something under there ain't right somehow, but I have no idea what, it isn't covered well in the Haynes manual, and I can't figure it out by just feeling around under there (tried futzing with different things for a half hour or so). Any experts out there know what I need to be looking for under there? Do I need to take the seat out to fix it? Am I hosed here? Thanks in advance! - Freed
Turbone
Theres only 4 bolts that hold the seat down. 5min and its out. Where the lever goes back on the outside rail, it has a square pin that fits into dogs on the rail. Its most likely tweaked or dirty. There is also a spring from the rear/bottom of the seat, to the front hump on the floor. This is supposed to bring the seat forward automatically when you pull the seat back lever. You need to release the spring from the floor when you remove the seat.
MilesFox
pushing down on the lever may get it to latch again. the lever side has teeth that fit onto the "dogs" on the track on that side, and there is a cable that goes across to the other side to another teeth. pushing down on the lever shopuld at least hold on that side if the other one is sticking. take the seat out and have a look, should be easy to fix
edrach
Is the seat back in a proper locked position? If not, then the slider won't lock into place.
