A DOG
So when I start my car I have to push the gas in to get it rolling. But sometimes when it wont start at first my carb pools a little. Then it wont idle right until you drive around for a while. Well now it wont idle right at all. It idles at 200rpm. It will idle there, but it sounds like crap. I've tried gassing the crap out of it, but that doesn't help. Today I had to drive to work gassing it at stop lights. I also have another problem. When I'm gassing it at normal pace in 2nd and 3rd, at 2.5-3K rpm I hear this really low rumble coming from my car. I do have a bad axle, but I don't think it is that. heep70
HHHMMMMmmmm, mine sometimes idles like that too. Even when I am going down the highway it will feel like it is dogging, so I press the clutch to see if it is idleing right and it is back down low again. I am blamming it on my electric choke. This weekend it will be a manual choke. I have always hated elect chokes and this is my first vehicle I have ran for so long with one before changing to a manual. I want to see what other opinion you get.
85Sub4WD
I would run some carb cleaner through there. That low rumbling is probably a bad wheel bearing, jack it up and spin each wheel by hand and see if you hear it.

85Sub4WD
A real upgrade for all of you who want to stick with inferior carbueration would be to put a Weber on, and some of them come with all the manual choke linkage stock.
A DOG
i would love to get a weber, but I don't think I'm that mechanically enclined., Unless someone gave me step by step instructions.

Mine does it with a weber on it. You are right though a weber is a nice upgrade for these "go nowhere in a hurry" cars.
85Sub4WD
To be honest, I skipped the Weber and went strait to FI. I really like the performance boost and I don't have to piddle with a carb anymore.
A DOG
I would love to have mine spfi, but that takes some mechanical skill. Something that I lack.
