JWX
lets say I put the crossover/header pipe and turbo from an EA82 on an EA81, and use an SPFI manifold with a couple more injectors (or use EA81T heads btu I doubt I can find any of those down here) what else do I have to do? prolly just tap in to a cooling port, and get oil to it some how, right? I'll use a mgea squirt&EDIS for it so that shouldn't be a problem. then I'll prolly need a crossmember too won't I, hmm anybody know it a coupe crossmember would bolt on to a hatch? or maybe use a EA82 crossmember. archemitis
get the oil pressure, right off of the oil filter, t the gauge. drill a hole on the oil pan, weld in a pipe for the oil return. get the coolant from the heater hoses. should be easy. if your not concerned about hood clearance, have adapters made to run the mpfi ea82 manifold, on an ea81.... fun stuff =] youd need a turbo xmember, from any ea81 turbo. bolts to hatch np. ea82 xmember dont fit. JWX
the EA82 won't fit, or won't fit with out some massaging? I wish milesfox would look at this, I think he swapped out the xmember from an EA82 on an EA81, but I can't find the post. I figure it it would bolt up might as well do it, right? archemitis
i happen to have said xmember, never installed it on my hatch. the ea81 and ea82 xmember are different widths, and different mouns for controll arms and such. if you did fit it on it would stick out of the frame, and youd have to run ea82 suspension stuffs. JWX
that would be the plan my friend
Turbone
Then why not just drop a EA82T in it?
archemitis
well, im sure youd just drill 4 new holes in the x member, about one inch further in. then hack off the part that sticks out. then swap out the top strut mount from the ea82 stuff, with an ea81 strut top. reweld that little rubber bushed bar holder thingy, in a different spot
JWX
Then why not just drop a EA82T in it? Cause I see no reason to stick in a questionably engine in there, if I was swapping engines it would be EJ22 either NA or turbo wouldn't really matter. And I don't have an extra engine to put in it, if I do this it will be with parts I'm taking off of my RX and re using on it.
