xt head rest removal?

is there a way to remove the headrest from the seats on an xt ? if there is how do i get them off?

if its anything like my xt6 seats, they dont come off, afaik.

as an engineer for airbags, i can say that without a doubt, unless you want to snap your neck, those headrests are absolutely necessary in a collision, unless you're doing this to clean them, i'd highly reccomend that they stay on.

i want to take them off bacause the ones currently on there are cracking, i found an xt in the jy that has crappy seats but good headrests, i was going to swap them out

I have an ea81 1984 GL Wagon that has headrests that seem frozen in place. They won't go up or down. I would like to take 'em off for the simple act of putting on seat covers, otherwise, I guess I'll have to slit the top of the cover slightly and throw in a couple of stitches to close it back up.
