starkiller
anyone know what pap wants for a fuel pump? there is a subie at the one in lynnwood w/97k on it that the pump would probably be pretty good on...mine is still humming away with changes in tone and pitch and volume depending upon if the turn signal is one/lights one etc...also, car is hesitating a bit going up hills and i understand that those two things are symptoms of a dying pump..dont know if its original or not but the car has 204k on it....will probably try the fuel filter first but probably wouldnt hurt to have an extra pump on hand..if they arent too expensive..the pap in denver charges $12.99 for one... 89 wgn spi thanx alan

MorganM
Call and ask what they charge. As far as difference in tone from turnsignal and lights... that's just a Subaru thing. I have a brand new pump and when I hit the turn signals the pump changes tone every pulse of the light. I think the issue there is somewhere between the alt <-> batter <-> wiring upto ECU. Good to have a spare I'd grab it! New one is ~ $

Wonder if the fat alternator upgrade would fix it ?

oddcomp
that whole change in fuel pump with the bllinkers thing since the ecu trips a relay to more or less directly power the fuel pump off the fuse box it pretty much gets all the +voltage it needs i would look into eitehr missing or crappy battery to body grounds and battery to engine grounds and then add one or two more grounds between the motor and body then get bored and check your ground point at the fuel pump it may or may not help but hey.. can't hurt
