Rossta86
MY 3/3 lift is on its way for my 86 brat. Im going to run 15 inch toyota rims from a 90 4-runner. Im looking at 26 or 27 inch tires, but i don't know what size i should get(205 70 15.......). So what size would be a good choice for 26-27 and still be narrow enough to fit on my brat? thanks
TheSubaruJunkie
I am running 205/70R14's on my Wagon with a 3" lift. They fit perfectly without much fender trimming at all. They are a mud-terrain pattern, and were aprox $75ea and are 26" in diamter. If you are looking for a mud terrain tire, it will be hard to find a 26" tire for a 15" rim. But if you want street tires it shouldnt be too hard. -Brian p.s. The tires i am running are Cooper Discoverer STT's
Rooinater
i have used 27x7" highliners on 14" alloy pugs. and now i am using 27x9.50" super swamper ssr's on steel pugs. w/ 6 lug rims you should be able to use the wider tires anyway. if you get pugs and plan to use them on offroad trips with lots of big rocks to negociate. do not get aluminum pug wheels!! i have destroyed a few. driving along everything is fine, till you are being pulled to the ditch. because your rim lost a 6 inch strip of the bead!! and your tire is coming off!! :madder:
ezapar
Here's several types of bigger tires on a few kinds of lifted and non-lifted soobs. http://community.webshots.com/album/37919799NGXlOA
Rossta86
I was looking at a 205 75 15 at my work today they were 27.4 inches tall but i dont know how wide. Could i go 215 75 or would that be too wide? What should i worry bout more the height or the width. Thanks for all the replys.
calebz
Width is completely dependant on the offset of the wheels you use.. Thats why pug wheels are so good for our cars.. the offset allows for minimal rub troubles. Toyota wheels have a different offset and stick out a little more I believe
MorganM
What size are these tires exactly? http://community.webshots.com/s/image5/8/80/3/60788003oEuwFy_ph.jpg http://community.webshots.com/s/image6/9/92/51/76299251QiaXkr_ph.jpg And what did it take to make them fit? mcbrat
Morgan, the tires in the second pic are Cooper Discoverer STT's STT from Cooper these swampers in the 225/85R14 should fit with minimal trimming on an EA82... Swampers
MorganM
Thanks McBrat. Think those Coopers woudl fit in size 235/75/ R15 ? I'll see if I can track down a local seller. Thx
mcbrat
what kind of wheels you gonna run. they would work good on Chevy wheels because of the offset. not sure if pugs would move 'em iout far enough... maybe. I'm running pug steel 14's on my 82 wagon, with 225/70R14's so really the 235s are only 5mm per side wider....
MorganM
I have 15" steel pugs to mount them on. I dont know the offset other then it has lots of negitve offset just like my Subaru rims.
