singletrack
I read here somewhere that cutting the SPFI air box will reduce torque. Any opinions on this? Furthermore, I ditched my muffler altogether. Pipe ends at the diff hanger. Most of the "scavenging" occurs in the y-pipe, right? The exhaust is otherwise stock. (including the cat, for now) Any opinions on that?
MilesFox
cutting the airbos wont affect torque it will give potential for airflow it will give you some intke noises the stock y pipe does most of the exhaust characteristics. you could run it alonr and have good hogh rpm, but low end may suffer a little. i like to put a glasspack immediately after the y pipe and that gives me the best of both top and low try running with NO y pipe, take off will be boggy but man will she scream in the high rpm! singletrack
cutting the airbox wont affect torque The suggestion that it would didn't make any sense to me anyway. Thanks. On the exhaust thing, I'm looking for torque. So I guess my question is: Am I losing low end without a muffler?
