zarquon
Just bought an '05 Impreza wagon, and I want to add an adaptor to my iPod. I have searched here and Scooby for details on the aux in for the radio, but only found references to '04s and Foresters or WRXs. If I understand correctly, it is a different radio in the Impreza than in either the forester or the WRX. Any one have any helpful input to this??? Thanks, Z. Forgot to add that this is my first post, and my first Subaru.

Cougar
Welcome to the board to both of you guys and hope you really enjoy your Soobs. It seems your question on this issue is not getting any response with the members here. Usually there is better response to questions but radio issues are less responded to. I don't there is an AUX input you can directly tie the line out of the iPod to. There are RF modulators available so you can use the FM radio to listen to the iPod program. Though it sounds like Sipperphoto may already have one and the audio is not that great using it. If you want to make improvements to the audio I would suggest repacing the speakers in the car first. They will give you the most 'bang for the buck' sort of speaking.
sregor13
I have never seen a 05 anything, but I would guess there is no Aux on the Front of the Deck. A nice feature in my 90 Legacy. Anyway there may be some sort of AUX through the Back. It would take 10-15 Minutes to pull the Deck and look at the back. You may be able to go Via the Changer Feature if it does have one. As far as the Ipod Radio thing. It is limted that you cant control your ipod through the Deck. There are several diifernt Radio Broadcast unit available so maybe the one Sipperphoto could be upgraded. Both Alpine and Pioneer have some up eith Ipod Interface Receivers. I would highly consider getting an aftermarket deck. Check out http://www.crutchfield.com If y
hklaine
Maybe take a look here. I am not familiar with the new Subaru radios but this was one of the top 5 query results in a Google search and may be a start or solution. -Heikki
Sipperphoto
Thanks for the reply... from what I've heard, the way the '05 radios are configured, an aftermarket is out of the question.. at least for now... I don't care so much about controlling the ipod thru the radio, but more about getting decent quality sound out of the ipod thru the radio. The iTrip just ain't cutting it... I thnk I saw over at Scoobymods, a way to do it, but you need to have a CD changer input (DIN?) in the back of the head unit. I just didn't want to have to pull half my dash off to verify that I can do it. I wish it had an AUX in front.. it would mek is 10000 times easier to deal with!
