WJM
Ok..on my RX...right front is where it seems to come from.. Upon turning right at speed...I hear a grinding/roaring sound....go stright...and its just a dull grinding...turn left, and it turns into a....higher pitched "tire whine" type sound. I am thinking wheel bearing....how to tell if it is that? Its not loose up int he air, and doesnt make noice when turned by hand unlike that 2.5 RS i had a LR WB go out on... Could the axle nut have backed off a tad? ANy other ideas? No, the wheel is on tight...LOL...i checked that already.
4WDFrenzy
Sounds like a wheel bearing on the way out to me. My friend Erik's last car(98 Grand Am GT) made a sound like that for about a week before he took it to a mechanic and you know what the mechanic said. He said,"That'll be about $640." I almost passed out. Stupid wheel bearings, always giving up ad stuff.

Ditto on that, but check to make sure all your castle nuts are tight before delving into the world of replacing wheel bearings.
