WJM Rallye Sport: lool SuperSportGuy550: ya I just always wondered SuperSportGuy550: as I know when I am back to center WJM Rallye Sport: you can see it w/out really looking WJM Rallye Sport: its really to let you know if everything is 100% with the car WJM Rallye Sport: aka WJM Rallye Sport: i if the car is going stright but the wheel it not back to center...problem SuperSportGuy550: lol WJM Rallye Sport: if wheel to cetner...car not...problem WJM Rallye Sport: see? WJM Rallye Sport: see SuperSportGuy550: see thats a reason WJM Rallye Sport: there it is WJM Rallye Sport: Center-ation. SuperSportGuy550: but we have like 3 turns lock to lock WJM Rallye Sport: 3.7 SuperSportGuy550: so the ring will be on top 3 times WJM Rallye Sport: REAL race cars only have about 1.5 to 2 turns SuperSportGuy550: and thats what I don't get WJM Rallye Sport: usualyl 1.75 or so WJM Rallye Sport: ? SuperSportGuy550: see I could see that WJM Rallye Sport: see WJM Rallye Sport: in real racing conditions, you are not going to use all of that input unless you are on the WRC WJM Rallye Sport: or MAYBE autox. WJM Rallye Sport: only few times are you going to use the whole lock to lock on autox. SuperSportGuy550: so you're saying that its a rice part unless we get some quick steering racks :-) WJM Rallye Sport: usually only 60% of it...still, we need faster racks. WJM Rallye Sport: an on a race track, it would almost be best to have 4 turns lock to lock...WAY more precise input for road course. WJM Rallye Sport: when you get to talking atuox and WRC...thats when you need the 1 or 1.5 turns lock to lock WJM Rallye Sport: imagine ONE ************ing turn...lock to lock WJM Rallye Sport: MUHAHAHAHAHAHAHAAHAH SuperSportGuy550: ya SuperSportGuy550: it'd be great WJM Rallye Sport: 1/2 TUNR LOCK TO LOCK WJM Rallye Sport: !:!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!1!!!``!!! TheSubaruJunkie
What hub adapter did you use? Or did it come with the steering wheel? I found a wheel for $40 but i dont want to get it if I gotta buy a $150 adapter. The wheel looks good, but doesnt look like the pic in the 1st thread. -Brian
operose
based on what I've found, you can get an adapter for about $60.. coupled with my $40 steering wheel that's still more than $100 less than just a MOMO wheel w/o adapter
JWX
thats not the one he got from Ebay, thats a sparco 350mm one
WJM
I barrowed Templar's SParco 250MM one with the WRX hub adapter as stated before to test the fitment. You can get the 7306 (impreza) hub adapter for $60 from anywhere...or boxer4racing.com. the 7303 is the one for the Leones...but is very hard to find and I think no longer avalible. The only reason I used that wheel is to test the fitment of the Impreza hub adapter, as stated before.
TheSubaruJunkie
Sorry, there was too much B.S to read through, so i skipped a few reply's. So the WRX and the Leone adapter are the same tho right? So i dont need to worry about 7303 only 7306. And $60 isnt bad, i think i know what my next interior mod will be -Brian

I'm sure there is some subtle difference, or they'd be the same part no.

WJM
and last I checked you have to buy a wheel with an adapter.
themixtoo
I'm confused, I thought original post was about STI wheel on EA-82. Isn't this wheel on a EA-81? Does that mean even a Brat can have a STI steering wheel:brow: . Gary
Tin Soldier
As for the horn, my DL I used a red push button switch from Radio Shack (3$) and mounted it to the dash. Worked good and no more blowing the horn while offroading.
operose
you don't need to buy a wheel with an adapter. it is certainly an option to buy a wheel and then an adapter later. I bought the wheel because I thought it was a really good deal.. I'm gonna buy an adapter later.
mcbrat
yes, Gen1/Gen2vehicles have interchangeable steering wheels. the blue wheel in the pic was one I got on eBay. it's not a MOMO, just a "clone" that uses the MOMO 6 bolt pattern. I also got the MOMO adapter off eBay. I'm confused, I thought original post was about STI wheel on EA-82. Isn't this wheel on a EA-81? Does that mean even a Brat can have a STI steering wheel:brow: . Good build quality?

avatar382
<thread resurrection> I just installed a momo-style steering wheel on my XT Turbo. Just so you all know, the XT has DIFFERENT SPLINES than the other EA82 cars. The 6306 adapter does not fit, and it's very likely that the 6303 will not fit an XT either. I had a muffler shop weld my steering wheel spline to the adapter to make a custom adapter. Here are pics! It really makes the interior look racy. Also, it is considerably smaller than the stock XT wheel, (320 mm vs. 350 mm) so steering feels quicker. The flip side is that without power steering, parking is even harder than before. I'm going to get huge forearms driving this thing.... </thread resurrection>

Although certainly, the 7306 I have was too small to fit on the splines... I have the sore back to prove it
DerFahrer
I personally like the XT steering wheel a whole lot, but I can at least understand you not wanting to look at cruise buttons when you don't have cruise Oh well, hope you like it. Now we need to talk about getting you a steering column cover

WJM
so how is the build quality on these ebay steering wheels? VERY excellent. I've had alot of Pro Road course guys comment on how nice the wheel is.
avatar382
UPDATE: So after a few weeks I decided that the replacement steering wheel sucks. It feels cheap and was too small... but mostly, it feels really REALLY cheap. That, and the leather was starting to come off! Lucky for me I scored a real honest to goodness MOMO wheel on eBay - used, but in great shape. Plus, my car is 17 years old, so a brand new wheel might look slightly out of place. Anyway, It's a MOMO monte carlo. Way better. Larger than the crappy wheel I had on before, but still smaller than stock, and it feels awesome.
