[HTi]Johnson
Hello. I have done the 3at to spd D/R swap in my 1987 GL-10 Turbo. Do I have to do anything to the computer to tell it it doesn't have an automatic anymore.? THanks, [HTi]Johnson
calebz
Nope. You may have to pull some trickery on the cruise unit if you want your cruise control to function though.
Vanislru
Keep the connector to the auto shifter linkage, alot of people short between the wires on the harness so that it thinks it's in park. This is a waste of time IMO, take apart the shifter so the electrical switch is free of it and plug it back into the connector. Tape it in the park position[check the dash display to be sure] and then tuck it under the console in front of the manual shifter and you're good to go. 5 mins tops no wire splicing metering etc. I've done three of these swaps now and this makes things quick.
