efgarro
I would appreciate any recommendation as to the most favorable US-based online site to purchase Subaru Parts. The Subaru dealer in Costa Rica is very expensive. Could somebody expand/clarify the abbreviation OEM? Thanx. Eduardo
edrach
Try http://www.1stsubaruparts.com or http://www.expressautoparts.com. 1stsubaru is a sube dealer with good discount and reputation. ExpressAuto is an "aftermarket" parts source. OEM: something like original equipment parts; I'm not sure how it got to M but the term refers to parts from the original manufacturer of the vehicle. BillyJ
I have ordered parts several times from http://www.subarupartstore.com/ and have been very happy. They have great prices, fast shipping and live phone support. They are actually the parts department of Natick Subaru dealership in Massachusetts. Good luck! Commuter
OEM - Original Equipment Manufacturer. As opposed to aftermarket stuff. For example, my car (97 OB) can with an OEM radio made by Panasonic. Brakes are a good one. You can buy "Subaru" OEM pads (made by some selected vendor of theirs or possibly themselves) or you can buy other pads from your local auto parts store that may be made by someone else. Just to confuse matters, it is even possible that the parts (OEM and aftermarket) are made by the same company, but may be manufactured to different specs. (Eg, pads for Subaru, or pads to fit Subaru as spec'd by Autozone/Pep Boys/Whoever under their house brand name.) Hopefully I haven't confused you! :-\ Commuter

ZenBaja
Hey Subie Gal, I really like your website. I was going to order a 6 pack of oil filters for my Baja, but the shipping came back as $19 for my zip. Other places were only charging $7 for S&H or less. Anyway, other than that, it looks great. Hopefully I can buy some accessories in the future. Zen
