beastbikes
I just finished putting my 87 ea82 in my 88 gl non turbo the swap has gone well and i am really close to being done. all i need to figure out now is the timing. the 87 that i just put in was carbed so i switched the distributer and the intake to all of my fuel injected stuff. when i started the motor after i just installed it ran then when i went to check the timing the timing marks didn't even show up. i have tried cranking the motor over to 20 degrees then pulling the distributer and turning it to fire on #1 but then it just wouldnt start al all. please help
MilesFox
take off the driver side timing belt cover. turn the crank till the 3 III marks come up on the flywheel, and the driver side cam is pointing up. now since you are there, turn the crank clockwise till the odeg btdc mark comes up. now put in the disty. the rotor will point to the farthest back terminal on the cap, to the right of the screw. the rotor goes counter clockwise 1,3,2,4 1 is the front piston on the passenger side
