torxxx
How cool would that be? IF they kept the cars just like they were when the stopped making them. Or even kept the same body style and simplicity of a EA motor and tranny. Think of it... A 2005 GL wagon. GL/Loyale body style, 5 lug 16 inch rims with the new style suspension, d/r tranny, ea82 engine, new style interior I'd buy one. Hell it'd be a 10,000 dollar brand new subaru that would run for 30 years...
iluvdrt
It would cost way morte than 10k. Probably 17-19. I wouldn't get onbe just for the fact a new style makes 3x the power and gets better gas milage.
NoahDL88
The crash testing that would have to go into it to get it to pass current standards would raise the price conciderably, even with side curtains it would have a bunch of trouble passing. Emissions would be another issue. What they need to do is bring back the Justy, 40mpg all wheel drive, airbags, it would be great.
TheBrian
There have been a few great improvements in cars in the past 20 years: fuel injection, aerodynamic bodies, and variable valve timing. If Subaru made a new Justy (and not a Hungarian-made Suzuki Justy), I'd buy one. Especially if it could tow 700 lbs. A 2-door hatchback with four seats and a trailer could be your only car. Effecient for commuting, and a capable touring wagon.
85Sub4WD
I agree that it would be neat, but unrealistic to bring the EA82 back - in reality, it is not a very efficent motor stock, and even with mods, hp per cc is not the best (only 2 valves per cylinder) - structurally, it is not very good in side impact crashes, and it would not "mate" well with today's cars in an accident An EJ drivetrain would not fit in the car reasonably - I would prefer to stick with the EA series wheels and all That said, they are great cars, and I love mine No, I would not touch a re-introduced Justy - three cylinders is not enough - the car would not be safe in today's traffic; I'd worry about it more than an EA wagon - service on it would be a nightmare, because of how the engine is mounted

SUBARU3
For that matter, how about a nice 1979 wagon or BRAT???? How would that have to change to bring up to todays standards!! I'd buy it! Todd
torxxx
not true about the crashing with newer cars. My buddy T boned a Ford Taurus last winter at 35. totalled the Ford, I drove his car to the shop to be parted out. still drove straight. They are pretty strong structurally. They could do it as a limited edition type of car. Like a 50 year aniversary car or whatever.

hooziewhatsit
Hell it'd be a 10,000 dollar brand new subaru that would run for 30 years... that's part of the problem it would last too long, so you wouldn't have to buy a new one. How many people replaced 15+ year old appliances to have the new one die after 5 (or less)?
MorganM
I wouldnt mind seeing a brand new hatchback with the H6, 4WD dual range, adjustable pneumatic suspension, and such on the road. *dreams on*

ballitch
consumerism is killing this country, you buy a brand new washer/dryer/dishwasher, 2 years later you need to buy another new one, consumersim at its finest. ~Josh~

How many people replaced 15+ year old appliances to have the new one die after 5 (or less)? look man. my opinion is that if they last long, you would pay it off in 5 years (depending if you lease one or buy it) still have a good car for like another 20 years (okay maybe not that long:lol: anyway,) and not worry about car payments for i don't know how long. it just depends on you.
