stvgsr
Hi my name is steve and i'm new here. I just bought a brand new 05 Gt and heard about this site from one of my friends. I think that i have a bit of a problem with my clutch... it doesn't work. my car is stuck at my house and now i have to get it towed to my local dealership. i realize that it is covered under warranty, but i've heard a little rumor about clutch problems with this car. i guess what i'm looking for is A: do these cars really have clutch problems... B: will it happen again... and C: are there any other issues with this car that i should know about. Any info would be helpful! thanks steve
The Dude
Never assume that a clutch will be handled under warranty. Most car manufacturers would rather french kiss a hot tail pipe than honor a clutch warranty. If there's an actual broken part, you're probaly OK. If it's a wear issue, they'll try to stick to the owner almost everytime. Funny, because most car manufacturers will honor an AT warranty without even a word. spanky_pete
When researching a new Legacy for myself I read a lot about minor clutch problems with them,(bad smell, slipping, etc) but no actual failures. You might try over at legacygt.com and see what you find. -Chris

Balr14
Hi my name is steve and i'm new here. I just bought a brand new 05 Gt and heard about this site from one of my friends. I think that i have a bit of a problem with my clutch... it doesn't work. What do you mean it doesn't work? MY experience with japanese clutches is they are all diaphram models that if you rev them to high and dump the clutch it won't engage, usually just fries. I replace them with a decent turbo clutch as soon as possible.
